I played for this team’s magazine launch party courtesy of DJ Brett Randle and had a really amazing fun time dropping wax for ‘em. Having done a fair amount of spoken word and writing back in college, I’m looking forward to receiving their first issue and getting back in the word sauce. Writers, submit, readers peep!
that’s some ohsnap right there
DJ Bozak - Birthday mix
Have you ever gotten a sick ass hiphop mix for your birthday? I just did! And not just any mix, from one of the illest DJs I know…dammmmmmmmmmn this shit is hot. He even made one of my original beats sound 10X official w/ the new layers..this mix bangs from start to end! Thank you thank you DJ Bozak!
Yes he’s back! Whenever I get stressed if a sample’s not chopping well, if the drums aren’t hitting or the synth isn’t sitting in the mix, Kwon Soon Keun reminds me that music is FUN.
Scott Anderson is dope.
The man Evan La Ruffa, hooked me up with bumpage on his bursting w/ art blog I Paint My Mind. It feels great to be on there along with everyone else he plugs!
Dylan Noble
I went to highschool with Dylan in Switzerland and was always really amazed by his drawing/painting skills. Good to know he’s doing it up in Canada. This has been a favorite since I first saw it a couple years back.

Mod Dance Party New Orleans
First day in New Orleans, while getting some records and local rap at Peaches we got tipped off about a party at a spot called Saturn Bar around the 9th ward. We really didn’t know what to expect and it turned out to be a crazy-fun, no bullshit, all vinyl “mod party” (40s-50s-60s psych/rock/funk/soul). Packed in a dive with a bunch of interesting paintings and a cool balcony, people were going nuts to the likes of The Mighty Hannibal, Mongo Santamaria, early Beatles, the Ramones and more. The DJs were snapping hard, a girl almost fell off a balcony, everyone was mad friendly and I found out where to go digging today. The Mod Party crew are holding it down, playing events around the Louisiana area. I hope to see/book them in Chicago someday soon. If you’re in New Orleans look for this party!!!
