Spinnerty - Absolute Zero

DJ Spinnerty is that dude. Friend, mentor, ill ass producer/DJ and a quiet storm in the children of boombap scene. He seems to drop quality stuff on the low then get mad props for ‘em as they marinate over time. With releases that reach as far out in Japan and working with artists like DJ Junior, Miles Bonny and John Robinson; I told you, he’s that dude. Absolute Zero is probably my favorite mix of his. I had this playing almost every winter day during my sophomore year in college, it captures the cold so well. I still drop that Respiration remix on the regular. Play this while walking through snow!

Arthur Hamidi - Chippy Summer

Peep this crazy dope cut from Arthur Hamidi, the duo made of musicians from the future Zirafa and DJ Spinnerty. I heard this one at the first Soap Box Series and have been trying to get my head around it since. The event was simple and great, a bunch of friends got together to peep their works-in-progress over a loud system. Lots of styles, lots of head nodding and a good time. Peep the next, on Wednesday, Oct 14th at the Crown Tap Room, we plan to try and get DJ Spinnerty and other out of towners in the house via Skype.
