Coalfire Pizza

Farsheed AKA Zirafa tipped me off to Coalfire and we finally made it out there a couple weeks ago. They make Neopolitan style pizza in an 800 degree coal oven the spot’s named after. Needless to say it’s amazing and currently a runner in my favorite thin crust around Chicago. We got a pepperoni/sausage, margherita and white cheese pizza. Each stood out with very distinct thorough flavors (not just the toppings) and between four people, we were able to finish them off. The thin and crispy crust and the way the cheese forms little air bubbles reminds me of pizza I used to eat at Italian spots in Switzerland. It’s on 1321 W Grand Ave, our server Tanya (sp?) was great, the food was delicious and I’m going back.
