Burt’s Place Maybe I’m on the Bourdain bandwagon, but yeah Burt’s Place is the best deep dish pizza I’ve had. A small unassuming spot at 8541 N Ferris Ave in Morton Grove, make sure to call ahead and come hungry. This is one spot where I even really like their veggie combos (though their sausage + pepperoni is delicious too). Not too much cheese, and the right amount of sauce and fresh toppings. It’s grown-man Pequod’s (Burt used to run that spot), very well refined deep dish made by a friggin wizard. I recommend eating there too, the atmosphere adds much to the eating experience.
